New things: Topshop flippy tunic dress

I was immediately drawn to this dress when I saw it in Topshop; the vibrant colour is perfect for Summer, and looks great with the deeper tan I'm currently sporting.  At only £20 it's one of Topshop's bargain basics and will be really easy to dress up or down.

A couple of things though.  This dress is tighter than the similar, tiny-sleeved version that I was wearing back in Autumn.  Obviously it's different (this has the addition of seam detailing down the middle which I like), but I kinda figured it would sit the same?  No, this is far clingier so will need a few (ok, a lot of) ab workouts before I feel comfortable rocking it without tights holding me in.  Also, as my adjusting in the second photo demonstrates, it's got those funny-length arm holes that means my bra is exposed a lot.  I'm over it though.  I have a funny narrowness there (the lady in M&S told me), so if I find a sleeveless top that doesn't leave a portion of my bra showing it's a miracle.

What do you think of these dresses?  I've got my eye on the blue one next!

  1. I've already told you this on twitter, but you always have the cutest outfits! STOP! No..don't! I need to learn how to climb out of my sweats and dress like a proper grown up. And I need the jacket. I have so many "faux" leather jackets, but these sleeves are so tailored and perfect. Mine sort of fan out a bit, not a good look.

You seem to love orange! It works for your skin. My whiteness and ginger hair will make me look like a pumpkin. Nope. NO thanks.

    3. Oh my gosh I am not at all! You are not orange. I'm from California, so I know orange people. I thought you were just a brown person. :-)

  18. I love the shape of this dress. I always find topshop sizing is always a bit iffy on me. Maybe i just have an odd shaped body! haha

  19. I have this dress and LOVE it! perfect for a night out now, but one to keep for summer too! Just one thing to watch out for is that as soon as you wash it the colour seems to fade a little.
